Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is one of the various schemes of the Central Government. Through this scheme, LPG cylinder connections are provided. This scheme was launched in 2016.
Currently, a plan has been formulated to provide 25 lakh new cylinder connections under the PM Ujjwala Yojana.
The central government has announced that it has released ₹676 crore for this scheme. A subsidy of ₹300 will be given to each cylinder user.
What facilities will be provided?
Under the PM Ujjwala Yojana, the beneficiaries will be provided with a cylinder, gas pressure regulator, safety soft pipe and stove free of cost. The beneficiaries will not have to pay any fee for the first cylinder and stove. The cost of this will be borne by the government.
What are the eligibility criteria to avail the scheme?
- An adult woman belonging to a poor family and not having LPG connection at home is eligible.
- Must be eligible as per SECC 2011 list.
- Must belong to SC, ST families.
- Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY),
- Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY),
- Forest dwellers, Most Backward Classes (MBC)
- Tribals, people living in river islands are eligible.

How to apply?
- Apply online by visiting the official website of the scheme https://www.pmuy.gov.in/e-kyc.html.
- Select the name of the oil company Indane, Bharat Gas, HP Gas.
- Select the connection type.
- Select the state, district and distributor name.
- Enter the mobile number and OTP.
- If you are from a migrant family, select Yes or No.
- Fill in the ration card information
- Select the category.
- Fill in the family details, personal details, address and bank details. Select rural or urban and submit the application.
- Get the reference 4number and visit the gas agency.
