Canara Bank celebrated its 79th Independence Day in a grand manner. Managing Director and CEO K. Satyanarayana Raju hoisted the flag at a function held at the bank’s headquarters.
On this occasion, Canara Bank under its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) scheme has announced the “Dr. Ambedkar Vidya Jyoti Scholarship” scheme for the education of **SC/ST. girl students. Under this scheme, *Rs. 1824.68 lakh* will be disbursed as scholarships.
The bank will implement this **through its *26 Circle Offices, 177 Regional Offices and over 9,861 branches* across India. “We are contributing to building an educated and developed nation,” said the CEO.
This programme reflects the bank’s commitment to social equity and advancement of education.
