The Central Board of Secondary Education has taken a big decision for the students. Now it is mandatory for all students from class 9 to 12 to get APPAR ID. CBSE has taken this decision under the “One Nation, One Student ID” scheme.

According to media reports, APAAR ID (Automated Permanent Academic Account Registration) is a 12-digit unique digital identification number, which digitizes all the academic information of the students. This ID keeps your school records, marksheets, certificates and other academic documents safe.
Why is APPAR ID necessary?
- APPAR ID helps in keeping all your academic data correct and updated. It also prevents duplication.
- It easily connects to platforms like DigiLocker and Academic Bank of Credits (ABC).
- This step by CBSE reinforces the new education policy and Digital India vision.
How to create APAAR ID?
CBSE has instructed schools to ensure that students’ APAAR IDs are created on the UDISE+ portal before registration for classes 9 and 11. This should also be done before releasing the list of candidates for class 10 and 12 board exams.
