Karnataka High Court has issued a recruitment notification to fill up the necessary posts of Civil Judges through direct recruitment. Applications are invited from eligible and interested candidates for a total of 158 Civil Judge posts including backlog posts. Know the following information about the posts and apply.

Eligibility Criteria
- Must have a law degree awarded by a university established by law in India and must be registered as an advocate.
- Age of the candidates should not exceed the following maximum age as on the last date fixed for submission of applications.
- Age should not exceed 40 years in case of candidates belonging to Category-I of Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe or Other Backward Classes.
- Age should not exceed 38 years in case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes Category-II(A) or II(B) or III(A) or III(B) and 35 years in case of any other candidates.
- For ex-serviceman candidates, there is a relaxation of three years in the maximum age limit.
In service candidates who have these qualifications can apply
- A law degree awarded by a university established under the laws of India.
- Age should not exceed 43 years in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe and 40 years in case of others as on the last date fixed for submission of applications.
- A) Should be practicing in the High Court of Karnataka or in a District Judicial Division under the jurisdiction of the High Court of Karnataka as on the last date fixed for submission of application. b) Working as Assistant Government Prosecutor/Additional Government Advocate in Department of Prosecutions and Government Litigation Management.
Method of recruitment
- There will be a three stage selection process for the applied candidates namely 1. Preliminary Examination, 2. Main Written Examination and 3. Oral Examination.
- Marks of Prelims will be considered only for qualifying Mains Exam. SC/ST candidates should get at least 50 marks and other category candidates should get at least 60 marks in this exam which is conducted for total 100 marks.
