What is the plan?
Ayushman Bharat Yojana is a major government scheme launched to improve health in India. The scheme was launched by the central government in 2018 with the main objective of making healthcare services accessible to economically weaker sections of the population. Who is eligible?
This scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi only for senior citizens. Senior citizens above 70 years are eligible for this scheme. An Aadhaar card is enough, the elderly in the family can get free medical treatment up to Rs 5 lakh. No one thinks that the situation is the same when there are more than two elderly people in the same family. OK Even if there is more than one eligible person in a family, this scheme is applicable to them. 14.9 crore senior citizens in India are eligible for this scheme. Through this scheme a family will get Rs. 5 lakh insurance is available. If more than one person is eligible then all of them together can get this free medical treatment up to Rs.5 lakh.

Seniors enrolled in this scheme can get treatment from day one. So this insurance coverage starts immediately.
