The Karnataka government has given great good news to the youth of the state who are looking for jobs in the police department. An official notification has been published for the direct recruitment of a total of 3,395 Police Constable (Civil) posts vacant in the remaining cadre of the Karnataka State Police Department.
Online applications are invited from eligible and interested candidates through Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).

Direct Recruitment (Male): 2,266 Posts
Direct Recruitment (Female): 755 Posts
Ex-Servicemen (Male): 257 Posts
Ex-Servicemen (Female): 82 Posts
Third Gender Candidates: 35 Posts
Salary Range
The selected candidates will be paid in the monthly salary range of Rs. 37,500 to Rs. 76,100/-.
Educational Qualification
Candidates should have passed PUC or equivalent qualification (CBSE / ISC / ITI / 3 years Diploma).
Candidates should have their mark sheet with them by the last date of application (those who are waiting for the result will not be allowed).
Candidates who have not studied Kannada as their first or second language at SSLC or above level will have to pass a compulsory Kannada language test of 150 marks and must score at least 50 marks to be eligible.
Age Limit (including 5 years special relaxation)
As per the government order, a relaxation of 5 years has been given in the maximum age limit for one time and the revised age limit is as follows:
General Eligibility (GM): Maximum 33 years.
SC / ST / Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B: Maximum 35 years.
Forest Tribal Candidates: Maximum 38 years.
In-service Candidates: 38 years for General Category and 40 years for Reserved Category.

Selection Process
Written Test (Offline-OMR Model): There will be a test of 100 questions of 100 marks, with negative evaluation (0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer). It is mandatory to score at least 30 marks in the test.
Physical Fitness and Endurance Test (PST & ET): Those who qualify in the written test will be called for this test in the ratio of 1:5. The minimum height for men should be 168 cm and for women 157 cm. There will be various physical tests including 1600 meters run (for men) and 400 meters run (for women).
Medical Test: Those who pass the physical test will be shortlisted in the ratio of 1:2 and subjected to medical examination.
