ONGC Scholarship 2026: ONGC Scholarship; Annual financial assistance of Rs. 48,000 to eligible students

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has announced scholarships for economically backward and meritorious students for the year 2026. Under this scheme, 1000 scholarships have been reserved for SC/ST candidates, 500 for OBC candidates and 500 for general category candidates.

With special emphasis on women empowerment, 50 percent of the scholarships in all the categories will be allocated to female students. Interested students currently pursuing UG and PG courses in the relevant disciplines can apply online by May 15, 2020.

Who can apply?

This scholarship is available only to those pursuing their first year of Engineering (B.E/B.Tech), MBBS, Geology, Geophysics or MBA courses in the current academic year. Engineering and MBBS students must have secured at least 60 percent marks in PUC/Inter. Similarly, PG level Geology, Geophysics and MBA students must have secured at least 60 percent marks in their degree. The candidate’s age should not exceed 30 years as on August 1, 2025. Also, the annual income of the parents should not exceed Rs. 2 lakh for General/OBC candidates. and for SC/ST candidates, it should not exceed Rs. 4.5 lakh.

Selection Process and Financial Assistance:

There is no written examination for this scholarship. Instead, candidates will be selected on the basis of marks obtained in their previous education on the basis of merit list. Selected Engineering and MBBS students will get a total scholarship of Rs. 4,000 per annum for four years at the rate of Rs. 4,000 per month. Similarly, MBA and Geology/Geophysics students will get the same amount of assistance for two years. It is mandatory for candidates to pass all the subjects of their course every year to get the scholarship.

Application Procedure and Zone-wise Distribution:

For this scholarship, the country has been divided into five zones and the zone is decided on the basis of the state where the college is located. A specified number of candidates will be selected from each zone. Eligible candidates have to apply online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). It is important to note that those who are already receiving any other scholarship are not eligible for this ONGC scholarship. Interested parties can submit their documents through the official website by May 15th and take advantage of this scheme.
