Are you ahead in reading and financial hardship is blocking your goal? If so, the central government’s ‘PM Yasasvi’ scheme is here for you. Under this scheme, the eligible students will get not only Rs 1.25 lakh per annum, but also for the purchase of college fees and laptops.
What is PM’s successful plan?
The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has implemented this scheme for the students of OBC (Other Backward Class), EBC (Economically Backward Class) and DNT (Vimanta and Nomadic Tribe). Financial assistance will be available under this scheme for education from 9th standard to post graduation.
Key Benefits of the Project:
This scheme is divided into 5 categories:
Pre-Matric Scholarship: ₹4,000 per year.
Post Matric Scholarship: ₹5,000 to ₹20,000 depending on the course.
Top Class School Education: ₹75,000 for class 9 and 10 students, ₹1,25,000 for class 11 and 12 students.
Top Class College Education: * Tuition Fee up to ₹2 lakh if studying in private institutions.
₹45,000 subsidy for purchase of laptop or computer.
₹5,000 per year for books and stationery.
₹3,000 per month for accommodation and meals.
Hostel facility: Construction of hostel for male and female students.
What are the qualifications to apply?
- The applicant must be a citizen of India.
- The annual income of the family should not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakh.
- The student should belong to the OBC, EBC or DNT category.
- If you are already receiving any other government scholarship, you should choose only one.
- Only a maximum of two children from a family will get the benefit of this scheme.
- 30% of the scholarship is reserved for girl students.

How to apply?
Eligible students can apply online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
Registration: First visit the NSP website and click on ‘New Registration’ to register.
Login: Login using the ID and password that you will get after registration.
Application Submission: Select the ‘PM YASASVI’ scheme, upload the required documents and submit the application.
Verification: The nodal officers of your school and the state government will verify the application online.
Payment: The money for this scheme is directly deposited in the bank account of the students (through DBT). The money is released in installments by August 15 every year.
