Are you planning to start your own dairy farming or animal husbandry? If so, a golden opportunity awaits you. The Karnataka government has invited applications for a subsidy of Rs 67,000 to set up a sheep and goat farming unit. This is a wonderful platform for those who want to earn lakhs of rupees sitting in villages.
What is this scheme? Who is eligible?
This scheme has been implemented by the Karnataka Sheep and Wool Development Corporation for the year 2025-26. The government has taken this step to improve the economic situation especially in the rural areas.
- Who is eligible?: Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) wage laborers, agricultural laborers and farmers already engaged in animal husbandry will get benefits under this scheme.
- Unit Model: Here you will be allowed to set up a sheep or goat farming unit in the ’10+1′ model (i.e. 10 females and 1 male animal).
In which districts are applications invited?
Currently, applications have been invited from various districts including major districts of the state such as Chamarajanagar, Bagalkot, Haveri, Raichur, Yadgir, Kalaburagi. The target for each district is as follows:
- Chamarajanagar: 16 units under SCP scheme and 6 units under TSP.
- Bagalkot: 18 units under SCP and 5 units under TSP.
- Haveri: A total target of 22 units has been given to the district.

Please prepare the following documents before you apply:
- Caste Certificate: Must have RD number.
- Ration Card: Your family’s ration card.
- FRUITS ID: Must be registered in the farmer software.
- Cooperative Society Membership: First priority is given to members of sheep and wool producers’ cooperative societies registered with the corporation.
Where to submit the application?
To submit the application, you should contact the Chief Medical Officer of the respective taluk veterinary hospital or the district office of the Karnataka Sheep and Wool Development Corporation. There you will get the prescribed application form. The filled application form along with the necessary documents should be submitted in two copies (Two Sets).
