Kannada Rajyotsava is coming up in a few days. This year, the 70th Kannada Rajyotsava is being celebrated and the government has decided to recognize 70 deserving achievers and give them the Kannada Rajyotsava Award.
But surprisingly, this is the first time that the online application process has been abandoned. Kannada and Culture Minister Shivaraj Thangadgi has announced this.
This time there will be no application process for the Kannada Rajyotsava Award. Instead, the Minister said that the advisory committee and the high-level selection committee formed by the department will select the Rajyotsava Award.
70 deserving dignitaries will be given the Kannada Rajyotsava Award this year. The selection committee will prepare a list of deserving ones. The Minister said that the selection committee itself will take a decision on the voluntary applications already submitted to the department.
The Kannada Rajyotsava Award will include a cash prize of Rs. 5 lakh, a 25-gram gold medal, a shawl, a certificate and a memento.
