The Karnataka Public Service Commission has postponed the mandatory Kannada language test scheduled to be held on February 22 and has issued a press release stating the reason. Candidates who had to write this exam can know more details about this information here. It said that the date of this exam will be updated in the coming days.
Kannada language test was scheduled on 22-02-2025 for Group “B” – 50 (HI.K) group posts in various departments notified by KPSC. But KPSC said that due to some reasons, the said examination has been postponed.
What is the reason for exam cheating?
Lakhs of candidates appeared for the Kannada language test for the recently held Panchayat Development Officer posts and the result will be declared soon. Many of the candidates who had appeared in those exams are also candidates for the current exams as they will write the Kannada language exam again, which will not only burden the commission in the evaluation process but also burden the candidates.
Therefore, only the Kannada language examination scheduled on 22-02-2025 has been postponed and it has been informed that the examinations of other papers will be conducted as per the schedule already fixed. There will be no change in that. KPSC said that the revised date of Kannada language test will be fixed after the announcement of Kannada language test results conducted for the posts of Panchayat Development Officer.
KPSC has already fixed the probable schedule for conducting compulsory Kannada language paper, specific paper and general paper examinations in the months of February, March and April for Group A, Group B, Group C posts of many departments and released it last January. Compulsory Kannada Language Test
Only those candidates who have not passed the SSLC, Secondary PUC, Graduation examinations with Kannada as first or second language should write the compulsory Kannada language test.
It will be conducted for 150 marks and minimum 50 marks should be scored to pass. But these marks are not considered for selection of posts. Candidates will be considered only on merit.
According to KPSC’s announcement, the candidates have applied for the posts notified after the implementation of the 2021 rules, i.e. for many posts. Such candidates are not required to write the mandatory Kannada language test separately for each post. KPSC is issuing a pass certificate to such candidates if they pass the one time compulsory Kannada language test. If candidates have written this exam more than once, the marks obtained in the last written exam will be considered.
