One Student One Laptop Scheme 2024 is a scheme run by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) of the Central Government.
This scheme enables students from economically weaker sections, especially those pursuing vocational, undergraduate or higher education, to get free laptops.
Highlights of the project.!
The objective of this scheme is to ensure digital learning tools including laptops to underprivileged students. Students from AICTE approved colleges or recognized institutes can apply for this scheme. Central and State Governments provide adequate funds to students applying for one student and one laptop scheme.
What is the educational qualification?
Students should study in recognized educational institutions including high schools, undergraduate colleges, diploma courses or vocational programs.
What is the income limit?
Applicants’ annual family income depends on the state or jurisdiction implementing the program. Maximum annual family income should not exceed ₹ 2,50,000. Applicants must be permanent residents of a state that has implemented the One Student One Laptop program.
Are there any additional conditions?
Preference may be given to SC/ST/OBC/PwD students. Students who have already received a laptop under another government program are not eligible.

Education Certificate, Aadhaar Card, Bank Account Book Xerox, Passport Size Photograph, Income Tax Certificate
How to apply.?
You can apply in two ways: online and offline. If it is ‘online’, you have to go to the official website of the central government and apply. Otherwise, you can inquire about the program in your colleges and apply ‘offline’ through the colleges. As far as the Tamil Nadu government is concerned, the project is on hold.
