Last year, on September 17, 2023, the Central Government implemented the PM Vishwakarma Yojana with the aim of promoting the traditional arts of the country and helping the artisans to thrive. From loan facility to modern training, marketing system, many facilities are being provided to the beneficiaries of this scheme. Millions of artisans are also benefiting from this scheme. Now Rs 1,751 crore under PM Vishwakarma Yojana. The loan has been released and under this scheme the artisans can borrow about Rs 3 lakh at 5% interest. Loan facility can be availed up to Rs.
1,751 crore under PM Vishwakarma Yojana by October 31. Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said that the loan has been sanctioned. In a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha, he said, “The government has taken various measures to overcome the challenges faced by the people, especially in the rural areas, to remove the difficulties faced in the distribution of credit facility and to make it easy to get credit.”

The PM Vishwakarma scheme was implemented last year for 18 types of artisans including carpenters, boat makers, potters, blacksmiths, goldsmiths, sculptors, barbers, masons, fish net makers. Under this scheme all these 18 categories of artisans can get loans at low interest rates.
3 lakh at 5% interest under Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana to set up own job or business. Loan facility provided. Under this scheme, a loan of 3 lakh rupees will be given to the beneficiaries. The loan amount is disbursed to the beneficiary in 2 installments. 1 lakh in the first phase and 2 lakh in the second phase.
How to Apply:
Application for PM Vishwakarma Scheme can be done online through the official website pmvishwakarma.gov.in. After opening the website, you need to click on the Apply Online option and after filling the required information, you need to complete the registration. For registration, beneficiary must have Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Income Certificate, Identity Card, Bank Passbook Details and Residence Proof.
What is the qualification?
- Must be a citizen of India.
- Age should be between 18 years to 50 years.
- Should be engaged in any one of the 18 categories covered by the scheme.
