Griha Jyoti Yojana: How to apply through mobile app? See 5 steps here

The verification process for the Karnataka government’s ambitious ‘Griha Jyothi’ scheme has now begun through a new app, and a video informing the public about this has gone viral on social media.

Customers who are availing the benefits of the Gruha Jyothi scheme can verify their details through the following steps. There are a total of 5 steps. A video about this has been shared by the line man on his Instagram account @powerman_yogesh. This video has been shared for the convenience of the public.

Step 1: Verification of customer details

First open the Gruha Jyothi App on your mobile.

Select your electricity supply company (ESCOM – for example: HESCOM, BESCOM etc.).

Then enter your customer account number (Account ID) and click on ‘Get details’.

Now the customer name and address details will appear on the screen. If these are correct, click ‘Yes’ and continue.

Step 2: Mobile and Aadhaar e-KYC verification

Mobile verification: Enter your new mobile number. Verify the mobile number by entering the OTP received on that number.

Relationship Details: Select whether you are the owner or the tenant of the house.

Aadhaar e-KYC: Enter your Aadhaar number, agree to the terms and conditions and generate an OTP. Complete the Aadhaar verification by entering the OTP sent to the mobile number linked to Aadhaar.

Then select your district, taluk and assembly constituency correctly.

Step 3: Voter ID and Ration Card Details

Select the appropriate option according to your ration card type (APL/BPL).

Mark ‘Yes’ for whether you are a registered voter of Karnataka.

Enter your full name and EPIC number as it appears on your Voter ID.

Upload a clear photo of the front and back side of your Voter ID using your camera.

Step 4: Select Income Tax, Profession and Category

Select ‘Yes’ if you are an Income Tax payer, otherwise select ‘No’. (If you are a Taxpayer, you will need to upload PAN card details and photo).

Select your profession (eg: Farmer, Self-Employed, Teacher etc.).

Select your social category (SC, ST, OBC, Minority, Others).

Note: If you select ‘ST’ or a specific category, it is mandatory to enter your RD certificate number. This is not required for OBC or other categories.

Step 5: Upload Photo and Final Submission

Finally, click and upload the live photo of the applicant.

Read the Self-Declaration Rules carefully and tick the check box to confirm that it is correct.

Make sure that all the details are correct and finally click on the ‘Submit Application’ button.

As soon as these steps are completed, a message will appear on the screen stating that the registration has been successfully submitted. After reviewing your application, you will be informed about the next steps.
