SSC CGL Recruitment 2026: Bumper notification published for 12,256 Group B and Group C posts; Applications invited online

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has issued the official notification for Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2026 for filling up the vacant Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ posts in various ministries and departments of the Central Government.

A total of 12,256 temporary posts are being filled across the country through this recruitment process.

Various posts including Assistant Section Officer, Inspector (IT/Central Excise), Sub Inspector (CBI/NIA), Junior Statistical Officer, Tax Assistant and Auditor are available, and eligible candidates who have completed graduation from a recognized university can apply online.

The application submission process has started from May 21, 2026, and the last date for submitting online applications is June 22, 2026 (up to 11:00 PM).

The last date for paying the online fee is June 23, and application corrections will be allowed from June 29 to July 1, 2026. The first stage Tier-1 (Tier-I) computer-based examination is likely to be held in August or September 2026.

The age limit and educational qualification will be calculated as on August 1, 2026. There is an application fee of Rs 100 for male candidates belonging to general and OBC categories, while there is no fee for women, SC, ST and PWD candidates.
