Good news for SSLC passers: Have you passed the SSLC exam with good marks this time? If so, the Karnataka government has come forward to provide you with huge financial assistance. The Social Welfare Department and the Scheduled Tribes Welfare Department have invited applications for the ‘Prize Money Scholarship’ for talented students.
Who will get how much money?
The money will be directly deposited into the bank account of the students based on the marks obtained:
More than 75% (Distinction): ₹15,000 cash prize.
60% to 74.99% (First Class): ₹7,000 cash prize.
Special Note: Not only SSLC, in the future, if you achieve the same in PUC, Diploma or Degree education, you can get an incentive of ₹20,000 to ₹35,000.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be a resident of Karnataka.
- Student must belong to SC (Scheduled Caste) or ST (Scheduled Tribe) category.
- Must have passed SSLC examination in first attempt with at least 60% marks.
- Must be currently enrolled in any recognized college for further education.
Important documents required:
- Aadhaar Card (Have Aadhaar linked to your bank account).
- Caste and Income Certificate.
- SSLC Marks Card (Marks Card).
- Copy of Bank Passbook.
- A recent passport size photograph.
How to apply?
- Visit the official website of the Social Welfare Department.
- Click on the “Prize Money Scholarship” link that appears there.
- Login by entering your [Aadhaar Number] and SSLC Register Number.
- Fill in the personal information asked and upload the documents.
- Take a printout of the Acknowledgement that comes after submitting the application.
