Indian Navy Recruitment: Good news for engineering graduates; Great job opportunities in the Navy, salary 56 thousand

This is a great opportunity for the youth who are dreaming of becoming an officer in the Indian Navy. The Indian Navy has released an official notification for the recruitment of Short Service Commissioned Officer posts.

Recruitment will be done for a total of 275 posts and the online application process will start from June 25, 2026. Interested and eligible candidates can apply through the official website of the Navy.

In which category is the recruitment?

This recruitment is going on for various branches of the Indian Navy. These include the posts of Executive Branch, Pilot, Naval Air Operations Officer, Air Traffic Controller, Logistics, Naval Ordnance Inspectorate Cadre, Education Branch, Engineering Branch, Submarine Tech Engineering, Electrical Branch, Submarine Tech Electrical and Naval Constructor. Candidates must have the educational qualification prescribed for the branch for which they are applying. Selected candidates will have to complete a training course at the Indian Naval Academy.

What is the educational qualification?

For Indian Navy SSC Officer Recruitment 2026, candidates should have BE or BTech, MSc, MBA, MCA or other prescribed degree depending on the relevant branch. For most of the posts, candidates should have BE or BTech degree in the relevant subject with at least 60% marks. Since each branch has different educational qualifications and eligibility criteria, candidates must read the official notification before applying.

On the homepage of the website, a link will appear called SSC Various Entries Online Application Window for the course of June 27. Clicking on this link will open the PDF of the notification. You can download and save it for future reference. The notification was released on June 23, 2026, and the application submission will start from June 25.

A total of 275 vacancies will be filled under this recruitment drive. These posts are divided into different branches and cadres. Different educational qualifications and age limits have been fixed for each branch. Hence, interested candidates should apply online before the last date. This is a good opportunity for engineering graduates who want to serve the country as an officer in the Indian Navy.

Salary:

The selected candidates will have to undergo training at the Indian Naval Academy, Ejimala. During the training period, a monthly stipend of Rs 56,100 will be given, equivalent to the post of Sub Lieutenant. This is the basic pay of Level 10 of the 7th Pay Commission. After successful completion of training, the basic pay for the post of Sub Lieutenant will be from Rs 56,100 to Rs 1,77,500. This is the pay scale of Pay Level 10. In addition, Military Service Pay of Rs 15,500 per month will be given separately. Dearness Allowance is currently 55% of the basic pay.

Note before applying:

Candidates should check all the details in the notification including age limit, physical fitness, medical criteria before applying. Officers selected through Short Service Commission will initially serve for a specific period. Later, there will be an opportunity to extend the service or be considered for permanent commission. The selection process will include SSB interview, medical examination.
