Hello friends, In order to eliminate casteism and bring social equality in Karnataka, the state government has implemented a wonderful scheme. It is the ‘Inter-caste Marriage Incentive Scheme’. If you or someone you know is an inter-caste marriage, you can get lakhs of rupees from the government.
Who will get how much money?
- ₹3,00,000 (Rs. 3 lakh): If a Scheduled Caste (SC) girl gets married to a young man from another Hindu caste, the bride will get this amount.
- ₹2,50,000 (Rs. 2.5 lakh): If a Scheduled Caste (SC) boy marries a young man from another Hindu caste, this amount will be available.
- ₹2,00,000 (Rs. 2 lakh): This amount will be available to those who marry between different sub-castes within a Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe.
Eligibility requirements for applying:
- One of the couple must be a resident of Karnataka.
- One of the couple must belong to Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST).
- The annual income of the couple must be less than Rs. 5 lakh.
- The application must be submitted within 18 months of marriage (submission after that will not be valid).
- It is mandatory to have a Marriage Certificate.
Important documents required:
- Aadhar card of the bride and groom.
- Caste and income certificate of both.
- Marriage Certificate.
- Wedding group photo.
- Bank passbook details.
- Mobile number.
How to apply?
- First visit the official website of the Social Welfare Department swd.karnataka.gov.in.
- There, click on the option “Marriage Incentive”.
- Then select the option “Inter-caste Marriage Incentive”.
- Fill in your personal details and marriage information.
- Scan and upload all the documents asked for.
- After submitting the application, the officials of the Social Welfare Department will conduct a spot inspection and release the money.
