Applications have been invited online for group wedding expenses to be carried out by voluntary organizations to encourage simple marriages of economically backward minority communities in the current year.
With the aim of encouraging simple marriages of minority communities and reducing the financial burden, a subsidy of Rs. 100 per couple will be provided for simple marriages conducted through voluntary organizations.
50 thousand will be given.
Eligibility Criteria
The bride and groom should belong to one of the minority communities of Karnataka (Muslim, Christian, Jain, Buddhist, Sikh or Parsi).
At least 10 couples should participate in a mass wedding.
The age of the bride should be between 18 and 42 years and the age of the groom should be between 21 and 45 years.
To avail assistance under this scheme, the annual income of each bride and groom should not exceed ₹2.50 lakh and their total income should not exceed ₹25.00 lakh.
This benefit can be availed only once in a lifetime.
This scheme is not applicable if the groom already has a living wife or the bride already has a living husband.
Only one person from a family can avail the benefit under this scheme.
