Ration card is one of the most important documents. It is required not only for getting ration but also for applying for many other government benefits. The application process for a new ration card has now started again.

The state is in the process of canceling the BPL cards obtained by creating fake documents and transferring such people to APL. In the meantime, the opportunity to apply for a new ration card has now been allowed again. This process was stopped due to the fact that the guarantee schemes are being misused.
Earlier, the opportunity to apply for a new ration card was allowed and closed again. But now the opportunity has been allowed again and beneficiaries can apply. The opportunity to apply for a new (BPL, APL, etc.) ration card has been allowed again in the state.
Eligible persons have been allowed to apply by 3 pm today (October 9). Application submission has been allowed on the ahara.kar.nic.in website. Beneficiaries can apply for new ration cards on mobile, computer, and SevaSindhu portals.
Who can apply for the new ration card?
- Must be a permanent resident of Karnataka
- Those who do not have a ration card can apply
- Newly married couples can apply for a new ration card
- The decision on whether the ration card is BPL or APL will be based on the family income

- Aadhar Card
- Age Certificate
- Driving License
- Recent passport size photograph
- Mobile Number
- Self-declaration Certificate
How to apply
- Visit the official website kar.nic.in
- Click on the e-services that appear there
- You can also click directly on the website https://ahara.kar.nic.in/Home/EServices.
- Then you select e-ration card
- Then if you scroll down, you will get a link to apply for a new ration card
- Click there and you will have to select the language to apply for a new ration card.
- You have to fill in all the information that is asked there
- Select and enter whether you are applying for a BPL or APL card
- Then upload the soft copies of the documents asked along with the application. Then the application submission process will be completed.
