An official notification has been issued to fill a total of 45 vacant posts of UGD Helper in the Shivamogga Mahanagara Palike under the Government of Karnataka. Applications are invited from eligible and interested candidates through offline (post) and the application submission process has started on October 8, 2026.
Candidates have been given time till the evening of November 7, 2026 to submit their filled applications.
This recruitment will be done through direct recruitment system as per the rules of Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1976, and the selected candidates will get an attractive salary range of Rs. 27,000 to Rs. 46,675 per month. Interested candidates should obtain the prescribed application form from the Shivamogga Municipal Corporation office and send it by post along with the necessary documents to the specified address within the time limit.
Job Description: UGD Helper posts in Shivamogga Municipal Corporation. The total number of posts available is 45.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed PUC Pass and along with that, must have completed the UGD Helper or Sanitary Inspector Course. Along with this, they should have the ability to read and write in Kannada language.
Age Limit Rules: The maximum age limit for the candidates who wish to apply is 55 years. Age limit will be applicable as per the Karnataka Municipal Corporations (Cadre and Appointment) Rules, 1976 and the rules amended from time to time.
Special Note / Disqualification: Employees working on contract or outsourced basis in Wet Well or STP units are not allowed to apply for these posts.
Category wise distribution of posts: Scheduled Caste (SC) – 5, Scheduled Tribe (ST) – 2, Category-1 – 2, Category-2A – 7, Category-2B – 2, Category-3A – 1, Category-3B – 2 and 22 posts for General Category (GM) are available, totaling 45 posts. In this, reservation has been made for women, rural, Kannada medium and scheme homeless candidates.
Selection Method and Weightage: Direct recruitment of eligible candidates will be done on merit basis. Eligible contract/daily wage employees (except Wet Well and STP) already serving in the Shivamogga Municipal Corporation will be given special weightage or weightage based on their length of service.
