Recruitment Details
Supreme Court of India invites applications for the following posts:
Assistant Editor, Supreme Court Reports – 05 posts (UR-5)
Assistant Director, Supreme Court Museum – 01 post (UR-1)
Senior Court Assistant, Supreme Court Museum – 02 posts (UR-2)
Assistant Librarian – 14 posts (UR-10, SC-3, ST-1)
Qualification
Assistant Editor, Supreme Court Reports
Law Degree from any University in India (recognized by the Bar Council of India) or Member of the English Bar or Attorney of a High Court of India.
Should have computer knowledge.
Experience: At least 3 years continuous experience of practicing law in any High Court/Supreme Court of India or at least 3 years of judicial appointment or at least 3 years of research experience in the field of law (in a recognized University/Institution) or at least 3 years of experience as a Law Lecturer in a recognized University or at least 7 years of service in a Class-II Gazetted post in the Supreme Court/High Court (minimum 4 years).
Assistant Director (Ex-cadre), Supreme Court Museum
First Class Postgraduate Degree in Museology from a recognized University.
Knowledge of Indian antiquities, museum techniques, publications and educational activities.
Knowledge of computer operation in the relevant field.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of research experience (with published works) in a Museum or equivalent institution.
Senior Court Assistant (Ex-cadre), Supreme Court Museum
Master’s degree in Museology from a recognized University (minimum 55% marks).
Knowledge of computer operation.
Experience: At least 2 years of research experience in the field of Museology (preferably in organizing exhibitions and educational programs) or at least 2 years of work experience in the post of Assistant Curator or above in any Museum.
Assistant Librarian
Degree in Library Science from a recognized University.
Diploma in Computer Application or equivalent recognized by AICTE/DOEACC or Library Automation course conducted by National Institute of Science Communication and Information Resources.
Knowledge of computer operation in library work.
Experience: At least 2 years of relevant experience in a recognized University/Law Library.
Age Limit
Assistant Editor: Minimum 30 years and maximum 40 years.
Assistant Director: Minimum 30 years and maximum 40 years.
Senior Court Assistant: Maximum 35 years.
Assistant Librarian: Maximum 30 years.
Age relaxation is available for SC, ST, OBC, physically challenged, ex-servicemen and dependents of freedom fighters as per government rules.
There is no upper age limit for candidates of Supreme Court Registry Department.
There is no age relaxation for candidates working in other government departments.
Application Fee
For General/OBC Candidates: Rs. 1500/-.
For SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/Physically Handicapped/Dependents of Freedom Fighters: Rs. 750/-.

Selection Procedure
Assistant Editor, Supreme Court Reports
Written Test (200 Marks):
Part-A: Precise Writing and Editorial Skill Test (Maximum 100 Marks, Minimum 50 Marks) – 2 Hours.
Part-B: Law and Constitution (Maximum 100 Marks, Minimum 50 Marks) – 2 Hours.
Interview: Maximum 25 Marks, Minimum 13 Marks. Candidates who successfully qualify the written test will be called for interview in the ratio of 1:3 as per the number of posts.
Senior Court Assistant (Ex-cadre), Supreme Court Museum
Written Test (100 Marks): General English, General Knowledge, General Ability (30 Marks) and Museology (including Archaeology and Ancient History/History) (70 Marks). Minimum 50 Marks – 3 Hours.
Computer Test: Qualifying (Proficient or Incompetent).
Interview: Maximum 25 Marks, Minimum 13 Marks.
Assistant Librarian
Written Test (100 Marks): General English, General Knowledge, General Ability (30 Marks) and Library Management (70 Marks). Minimum 50 Marks for General Category, 45 Marks for Reserved Category – 3 Hours.
Computer Test (100 Marks): To assess knowledge of computer operations. Minimum 50 Marks for General Category, 45 Marks for Reserved Category – 1 Hour.
Interview: Maximum 25 Marks. Minimum 13 Marks for General Category, 12 Marks for Reserved Category.
Shortlisting Criteria:
For the posts of Assistant Director, Senior Court Assistant and Assistant Librarian, candidates who qualify in the written test will be called for the computer test in the ratio of 1:10. Candidates who qualify in both the written and computer test will be called for interview in the ratio of 1:3 as per the total number of posts.
