JNP Recruitment 2025 – Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium (JNP) is an autonomous organization of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka, and is at the forefront of science popularization and informal science education.
The Planetarium has invited applications for the posts of First Division Assistant (FDA) and Second Division Assistant (SDA) to assist in its scientific educational work.

Educational Qualification
✅ First Division Assistant (FDA)
Graduate with at least 50% marks from a recognized university
Computer knowledge (Tally, MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Kannada and English typing knowledge
Aspiring Qualification:
Post Graduate Degree / Diploma (Law / HR / Personnel Management)
Shorthand knowledge (Kannada and English)
Creative publicity poster design ability

Computer operation knowledge

Age Limit
The maximum age limit for the post of FDA should be 28 years. Age relaxation is available for reserved category candidates as per government rules.
The maximum age limit for the post of SDA should be 28 years. Special age relaxation has been given for this post as per reservation:
- 5 years age relaxation for SC/ST candidates
- 3 years age relaxation for OBC candidates
- 10 years age relaxation for candidates with physical disability (handicapped)
Pay Scale
The pay scale for the post of FDA is fixed from Rs. 34,100 to Rs. 67,600 (as per the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission).
The pay scale for the post of SDA is fixed from Rs. 27,650 to Rs. 52,650 (as per the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission).
All types of allowances are also available for this pay scale as per the government rules (DA, HRA, TA etc.).
Job Description
First Class Assistant FDA:
Daily management of the Director’s office
Taking dictation and preparing notes
Preparing PowerPoint presentations
Designing publicity for educational programs
Preparing reports, organizing meetings
Second Class Assistant SDA:
Office record management
Preparing copies of documents
Managing e-mail, phone communication
Organizing original documents and files
