Joint Director of Agriculture said that to register for crop insurance of monsoon season crops under the Karnataka Raitha Suraksha Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, farmers who have taken crop loans and those who have not taken crop loans should register for insurance of their crops with banks.
Monsoon crops of Gram Panchayat level like paddy, musukina jola and Hobli level monsoon crops like jola, ragi, sajje, navane, togari, buckwheat, sunflower, sesame, cotton, groundnut, onion, paddy, red chilli are the crops of the district.
*Last date for crop insurance of various crops
Last date for sesame-July 15. Last date for musukina jola, sajje, sunflower, togari, cotton, red chilli, onion crops is July 31. Paddy, togari, ragi, navane, buckwheat, groundnut, sajje crops is allowed till August 16.
To register, you can contact local banks or public service centers or Gram One service centers.
If the farmers who have taken crop loans do not get the desired result, they will be dropped from the crop insurance scheme if they give a written letter of resignation to the manager of the bank under their jurisdiction 7 days before the last date of crop registration.
