BIG NEWS: Good news for students from `ST’ community from the state government: Applications invited for Rs. 35,000 incentive

Applications are invited online for the incentive grant provided by the department to Scheduled Tribe students who pass with first rank in their first attempt.

Incentive details: Second PUC Rs. 20 thousand, Graduation Rs. 25 thousand, Any Post Graduate Course M.A., M.Sc., etc. Rs. 30 thousand and Agriculture, Engineering, Veterinary, Medicine Rs. 35 thousand.

Eligibility: Students should have passed their second and final year PUC with first division in the first attempt. Those who have passed the second PUC examination conducted by CBSE and ICSE are also eligible to get the incentive under this scheme.

In respect of graduation, post-graduation, agriculture, animal husbandry, engineering, medical courses, they should have passed in the first attempt in every year. They should have passed in the first division in the final year class. If these courses have a semester system, they should have passed in the first attempt in all the semesters and they should have passed in the first division in the final year class. If they have passed in every year examination or semesters in all the courses under the compartmental/carry over system, such students are not eligible to get the prize money.

Scheduled Caste students of Karnataka are eligible even if they have studied these courses in other states. However, students who have studied in other countries are not eligible to receive prize money under this scheme.

Students who have studied in educational institutions under universities recognized by the state and central governments and autonomous educational institutions recognized by the government are eligible for this scheme. Students who have studied in educational institutions not recognized by the government are not eligible under this scheme.

The application should be submitted to the Deputy Director, Social Welfare Department, of the district in which the educational institution studied by the student is located. Students who have studied in other states should apply only in their native district.

For Second PUC, candidate’s photograph, Second PUC mark sheet, SSLC mark sheet, Aadhaar copy, caste certificate, income certificate and bank passbook and for Degree, Postgraduate, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Engineering, Medical candidate’s photograph, mark sheet of all semesters, SSLC mark sheet, Aadhaar copy, caste certificate, income certificate and bank passbook.
