The state government has given the green signal to fill 800 vacant posts in various hospitals in the state.!

The government has given permission to fill 400 vacant posts of junior laboratory technicians and 400 pharmacists in various hospitals in the state on a contract basis.

In this regard, the Under Secretary to the Government of the Department of Health and Family Welfare has issued a letter to the Commissioner, Health and Family Welfare Services, to continue 150 Senior Laboratory Technician and 400 Pharmacy posts in the Department of Health and Family Welfare on contract basis for the year 2021-22.

Since the service period of the said outsourced employees in the single file of the Directorate ends on date: 03-02-2025, the current direct recruitment process is underway and the said posts have not been filled through direct recruitment yet, it is requested to grant permission to continue the service of 200 Junior Laboratory Technician Officers and 400 Pharmacy Officers on an outsourced basis until the vacant posts are filled through direct recruitment or for the next one year.

Therefore, it has been decided to fill some of the vacant posts of Junior Laboratory Technicians and Pharmacists in the Department of Health and Family Welfare on contract basis until they are filled through direct recruitment, and accordingly the following order has been issued.

In view of the factors explained in the proposal, it has been ordered to fill 400 Junior Laboratory Technicians and 400 Pharmacists on contract basis for a period of one year against the vacant posts in the Department of Health and Family Welfare, subject to the following conditions.

Conditions:-

  1. After filling up the posts through the current direct recruitment process, 400 Junior Laboratory Technicians and 400 Pharmacists posts shall be cancelled on contract basis.
  2. Action shall be taken to realign the posts from the health centres functioning additionally with the sanctioned/filled/vacant posts as per the norms of the Health Department.
  3. Action shall be taken to ensure that no legal complications arise in the future direct recruitment process while recruiting staff on contract basis,
  4. Selection of staff on contract basis should be done De-novo, without considering the pre-service of contract employees, as per extant C/R rules.
  5. The Commissioner, Health and Family Welfare Services, before recruiting Pharmacy and Junior Laboratory posts on contract basis, shall furnish to the Government a list of districts and centres where there is a shortage of staff and a list of districts and centres for which the proposed posts need to be filled on contract basis.
  6. This order has been issued with the concurrence given in the Finance Department’s Note No.: AE 493 Expenditure-5/2022, dated: 17-05-2025.
