Ration cards are used to provide rations like rice, wheat etc. to the needy people. These rations are available free of cost. However, eligibility is also reserved for this. Now it is mandatory to do KYC for ration cards.
Currently, if you are being asked to do e-KYC for your ration card, first update your mobile number.
Without updating the mobile number, you will not be able to do the ration card KYC. But not all ration card holders need to update their mobile number (Ration Card Mobile Number Update).
Who needs to update the mobile number?
If you have recently changed your mobile number. If you are no longer using the phone number registered in the ration card, then the mobile number needs to be updated. Because while doing KYC, an OTP is sent to your registered mobile number. It is impossible to do KYC without OTP.
How to update mobile number in ration card?
If you want to update a new mobile number in ration card, follow the steps given below.
Step 1- First of all, you have to go to the National Food Security Portal.
Step 2- Here you will get the Citizens Corner option. Click on it.
Step 3- After this, you have to go to Register/Change Mobile Number.
Step 4- Then you have to enter the Aadhaar card number. After this, also enter the ration card number.
Step 5- Finally, the number to be registered or changed. Now click on Save.
If the internet service is poor in your area, you will have to go to the food department and submit a form.
Along with the form, you will have to submit the necessary documents like Aadhaar card and ration card.
In this way, you can update the mobile number in ration card both online and offline. Along with this, after updating the mobile number, you can also do ration card KYC while sitting at home. Ration card without KYC.
How to do ration card e-KYC?
Step 1- First of all I have to download my KYC and Aadhaar FaceRD.
Step 2- After this open the app and enter the location.
Step 3- Then you have to enter the Aadhaar number, captcha and the OTP received.
Step 4- Then all the information will be shown on the screen. Then select the face-e-kyc option.
Step 5- After that the camera will turn on, click a photo and submit it.
Step 6- Finally your e-KYC will be completed.
In this way you can do both ration card mobile number update and KYC.
