15 lakh subsidy announced by the government to set up own business

As a part of Atma Nirbhar Bharat Concept, the Union Ministry of Food Processing Industries has implemented the PM Micro Food Processing Scheme (PMFME) in 2020-21.

It goes without saying that this scheme has created a wonderful platform for farmers and farmer women to start small businesses using their own crops. The Central Government along with Union Territories and State Governments have implemented the scheme with the good intention of giving preference to local products. Through this scheme a maximum of Rs. Beneficiaries will get subsidy for establishment and development of their business up to 15 lakhs. How much total grant can be received from this scheme? How to apply? What documents should be given?

Name of Scheme:- PM Micro Food Processing Scheme (PMFME)

Objective of the project:-

  • Encouraging small food processing enterprises in the unorganized sector to increase their competitiveness and bringing them into the organized sector
  • Through this, farmers’ producer organizations, self-help societies and farmer producer cooperative societies will be encouraged and these groups will be financially empowered.

Grants available:-

  • The maximum amount of this scheme is Rs. 30 lakhs
  • A loan-linked Central Government subsidy of 35% of the project cost will be available with an additional 15% subsidy from the State Government.
  • Maximum subsidy limit is 15 lakhs
  • Branding and marketing activities such as packaging, advertising, general brand development, tie-ups with retail outlets, etc. are heavily subsidized by the government.

Criteria for Applying:-

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be currently operating as small food processing units.
  • ODOP products should be entities identified in SLUP (or) entities personally verified by the resource person.

  • Preparation for Shavi
  • Preparation of papala
  • Bakery Ingredients
  • Chakkali manufacturing
  • Cereal processing
  • Preparation of flour or rava
  • Legumes
  • Preparation of cooking oil
  • Preparation of salt powder and spices
  • Preparation of tamarind ingredients
  • Organic industry
  • Making crunchy snacks
  • Preparation of pickles
  • Manufacture of milk products
  • etc. small enterprises

Apply and register through https://pmfme.mofpi.gov.in portal.
