There are total 33 military schools in India. Sainik School Society is responsible for managing all these. Its details can be checked at sainikschoolsociety.in. For admission to Class 6 of Sainik School, age of candidate is 10-11 years and 9, 13-14 years as on 31.03.2025. If you are taking admission in class 6, then pass in class 5 is necessary. Similarly, 8th pass is required for entering 9th class of Sainik School.

Sainik School Reservation Policy: Is reservation available for Sainik School admission?
A policy of reservation has been made for admission to Sainik School. If you want to study here, you must know the reservation rules-
- 67% seats are reserved for children of defense personnel (50% for defense personnel and 17% for ex-servicemen).
- 27% seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes (OBC).
- 15% seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC).
- 7.5% seats are reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST).
- 5% seats are reserved for children of employees of military schools (in some military schools only).
Sainik School Girls Admission: Do girls get admission in Sainik School?
