Remember the exam is 2 months away

At least 6 months of preparation is required if you want to prepare properly for cassette exam. But now there is only two months for the exam. Remember this. So the aspirants have to make a study plan to read a lot in these two months. The maximum time to be given for reading depends on their possibilities and memory. It is not like you can pass immediately after studying for 6 months. Eligibility for the post of Assistant Professor depends on both the number of candidates and the competition.

KSET Exam Pattern

KSET exam is conducted for total 300 marks.
Paper-1 (General paper for all students): For 100 marks.
Paper-2 (Subject Paper) : For 200 Marks

How to study for first paper?

KSET Paper-1 is common to all candidates. It is possible to score more marks in this paper. More reading is also necessary. The sections that easily score the highest marks in this paper are Mental Ability, Maths related section and Data Interpretation section. Knowing the method and shortcut to solve these can answer very quickly. Research Aptitude, Teaching Aptitude No matter how much reading is not enough in the study of subjects. These topics need more study.

Plan to study in 2 months

KEA will conduct 2023 class Kset in November. So only two more months are left for the exam. So freshers should give more time. Also remember to read both papers side by side. For example 2 hours should be studied for paper 1 and 2 hours for paper 2. Due to the short duration of the exam, you have to study for a long time every day. It doesn’t matter if you give time according to your knowledge.

Also read in English

Generally KSET exam is in Kannada except language subjects. Similarly, there will be questions in the English version as well. Preparing as much as possible in the English version is like preparing for two exams KSET and NET. Some of the questions and multiple choice answers asked in the cassette test may be translated from English to Kannada and some may not be understood. For this reason it is useful to practice in English as well.

Make your own notes

There may not be enough time to make own notes in a short period of time. But it is better if you make short notes of the most important points to give the last two weeks for revision. Or you can underline with a marker in the books you read.

Solve question papers / take mock tests

If you have to solve previous year question papers then visit kset section http://kset.uni-mysore.ac.in/ in the official website of Mysore University where the exam was conducted earlier. Candidates can download previous 6 years question papers by clicking Study Info section on the opened page. The question paper pattern will be known by solving all the previous year papers. This will give you more practice to answer during the exams. Take mock test on NTA website and practice.

Don’t forget to repeat

It is not advisable to read the new chapters and topics until the exam day is near as you have not finished reading the syllabus. With the exam still two months or 45 days away, revision is very important if you want to retain what you have studied. If you start studying when it is two months from now, at least two weeks should be given importance to revision.

Examination can be taken during master degree studies

It is time to pass the cassette for those who are pursuing Master’s degree. If the target of KSET is kept, there is a chance to pass before graduation. You can join the PG course and take the exam while studying in the second semester. Most of the people are under pressure to get a job immediately after graduation. Most of the people do not find time to study once they join the job. Therefore, those who are interested in the field of teaching should prepare for such exams during their studies.

Do not postpone practice

One can easily score in the first paper. But it takes more practice. Some candidates need more practice in subject papers. For example economics. Majority of subjects in arts department do not have much practical aspects. To remember what you read, you need to read it again and again. So don’t put off which section and topic requires practice.
