The names of over 4.30 lakh beneficiaries have been removed from the list after a thorough review of the Congress government’s ambitious Grihalakshmi scheme. The government had launched a special review operation called “Operation Grihalakshmi” following complaints that ineligible beneficiaries were getting benefits under the Grihalakshmi scheme, which provides financial assistance of Rs 2,000 per month to householders.
According to official sources, several irregularities were found during the inspection conducted in various districts. Cases of receiving money in the name of income tax payers, families of government employees, deceased beneficiaries and more than one application submitted by the same family have come to light. Thus, all these ineligible people have been deleted from the list.
What is the Grihalakshmi Cancelled List?
This ‘cancelled list’ is a list of names of those whose applications have been rejected due to ineligibility or errors in the documents as per the government rules. If the documents you have provided do not match the government rules or you do not have the necessary qualifications for the scheme, your name will be added to this list and the benefits you are entitled to will be stopped.
