Hello friends! The Backward Classes Welfare Department (BCWD) has invited online applications for admission to Post Matric (Post Matric – PUC) student hostel for the year 2026-27. Eligible students studying in PUC should apply by June 15, 2026.

Eligibility – Who can apply?
This hostel admission is applicable only to PUC (1st and 2nd year) course students. The following categories of students from all districts of Karnataka state are
- Annual Income Limit of Parents
- For Category-1, SC and ST students – Should be within ₹2.50 lakh per annum
- For Category-2A, 2B, 3A, 3B and other category students – Should be within ₹1 lakh per annum
Required Documents
Before submitting the application, keep these documents ready:
- SSP Student ID (Student Service Plus)
- Student Mobile Number
- Caste Certificate
- Income Certificate
- College Registration Number
- SSLC Marksheet
- Student Address Proof (Residence Proof)
Selection Process
- Applications will be reviewed on the basis of merit, marks and preference
- Selected students will be provided hostel accommodation
- Selection list will be published on the official portal
How to apply online?
- Visit the website shp.karnataka.gov.in/bcwd
- Click on the “Online Services” tab
- Select “Hostel” → Open the “Post Matric Hostel Application” link
- Login with SSP ID and mobile number
- Fill in the student basic details
- Upload the required documents
- Select the hostel in the desired district/taluk
- Submit the application – Take a printout of the confirmation
