nia recruitment 2026: The National Investigation Agency, which operates under the Union Home Ministry, has issued an official notification to fill various ministerial staff posts for the year 2026. This recruitment will be on assignment basis and applications have been invited from eligible candidates for a total of 29 vacancies. Job Description
The classification of the total 29 vacancies in the National Investigation Agency is as follows:
Section Officer or Office Superintendent: 03 posts.
Assistant: 03 posts.
Stenographer Grade-1: 14 posts.
Upper Division Clerk: 03 posts.
Lower Division Clerk: 06 posts.
The number of all these posts is subject to change according to the availability of vacancies.
Educational Qualification
Candidates applying for these posts should have the following educational qualification and experience:
- Section Officer: Candidates should have a degree from a recognized university. Along with this, they should have computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and slide generation. Should have completed 5 years of regular service in Pay Matrix Level-6.
- Assistant: Should have a degree from a recognized university. Should have passed the Computer Proficiency Test conducted by the Staff Selection Commission. Should have 6 years of experience in Pay Matrix Level-5.
- Stenographer Grade-1: Should have any degree and should have computer knowledge. Shorthand speed should be 100 words in 10 minutes. Transcription speed should be 40 minutes in English or 55 minutes in Hindi.
- Upper Division Clerk: Should have passed 12th class from a recognized board. Should have 8 years of experience in Pay Matrix Level-2.
- Lower Division Clerk: Should have passed 12th class or equivalent examination from a recognized board. Should be in an equivalent post in the Central or State Government.
Age Limit & Age Relaxation
As the recruitment is on assignment basis, the maximum age limit of the candidates should not exceed 56 years as on the last date for submission of applications. Only officers working under the Central Government, State Governments or Union Territories are eligible to apply.
Pay Scale
The selected candidates will be paid the salary as per the posts:
- Section Officer: As per Pay Matrix Level-7, the salary will be from Rs. 44,900 to Rs. 1,42,400.
- Assistant and Stenographer: As per Pay Matrix Level-6, the salary will be from Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400.
- Upper Division Clerk: As per Pay Matrix Level-4, the salary will be from Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100.
- Lower Division Clerk: As per Pay Matrix Level-2, the salary will be from Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200.
- Special Benefits: All candidates will be given Special Security Allowance of 20% of the basic pay.
