The Service Selection Commission (SSC) has invited applications for 25,487 General Duty (GD) Constable posts in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Secretariat Security Force (SSF) and Rifleman (GD) posts in Assam Rifles.
These posts come under Level-3 pay scale, offering a salary ranging from Rs.21,700 to Rs.69,100.
Candidates who have passed class 10 can submit their applications through ssc.gov.in and the computer-based test has been tentatively scheduled between February and April 2026.
A total of 23,467 posts have been announced for male candidates and 2,020 for female candidates.
The category-wise breakdown includes 3,702 posts for SCs, 2,313 for STs, 5,765 for OBCs, 2,605 for EWSs and 11,102 for UR category. After selection, candidates will be posted in major paramilitary forces like BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, Assam Rifles and SSF.
Important Dates for Application
The registration window will be open till December 31, 2025 (11 PM).
Candidates can pay their application fee till January 1, 2026, after which SSC will allow corrections in the application form from January 8 to January 10, 2026, including payment of any applicable correction fees.
Eligibility Criteria: To apply for SSC GD Constable posts, candidates should be between 18 and 23 years of age. Relaxation of five years is available for SC and ST candidates, while relaxation of three years is given to OBC applicants and ex-servicemen. As per SSC norms, ex-servicemen means a person who has served in any rank – whether soldier or non-soldier – in the regular army, navy or air force. Applicants should have passed class 10 from a recognized board and NCC certificate holders will get an additional 5 per cent incentive.
Candidates applying for the first time have to complete the One Time Registration (OTR) process on the SSC website. After logging in with their OTR credentials, they can access the GD Constable recruitment form, fill the required details, pay the application fee of Rs. 100 and submit the form.
