Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) has invited applications from eligible candidates for the post of Electricity Ombudsman on contract basis. The selected candidate will be paid a monthly salary of Rs. 80,000.
A consolidated salary will be provided. The appointment will be for an initial period of one year with the possibility of extension of service at the discretion of the Commission.
Educational Qualification and Experience Requirements:
Candidates wishing to apply for this post should have completed graduation from a recognized university. It is mandatory to have at least 25 years of experience in the fields of electricity supply and distribution, finance, law and administration. In addition, candidates should have the ability to effectively deal with electrical engineering problems and the necessary knowledge to work in the Kannada language.
Age Limit and Preference for Candidates with Legal Background:
The age of the applicant should not be more than 65 years. The notification has clarified that the Commission will give higher priority to candidates with legal background in the selection process for this post. Application Fee and Demand Draft (DD) Details: The application fee is Rs. 1,000 for general and other candidates, and Rs. 100 for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) candidates. The fee is to be paid through Demand Draft drawn in the name of “Secretary, Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission, Bangalore”.

The application form can be downloaded from the Commission office or from the Commission’s official website kerc.karnataka.gov.in. The duly filled application form along with copies of DD and eligibility certificates should reach the office of the Secretary on or before 12.11.2026.
