State Bank of India (SBI), the country’s largest public sector bank, has good news for candidates preparing for jobs. It has issued a notification inviting applications from eligible candidates for the filling of Probationary Officer (PO) posts in various branches across the country.
A total of 1500 PO posts will be filled through this recruitment. This includes 1446 regular posts and 54 backlog posts. Candidates who have completed graduation in any subject can apply by July 8, 2026.
Educational Qualification
Must have completed graduation in any subject.
Final year graduation students can also apply.
Age Limit
Candidates should be between 21 and 30 years as on 1st April 2026.
Age relaxation of 3 years is available for OBC candidates, 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 10 to 15 years for Divyang candidates.
Application Fee
General / EWS / OBC candidates: ₹750
SC / ST / Divyang candidates: No fee
Selection Process
The selection process will be conducted in three stages:
Stage 1: Online Preliminary Examination – August 2026
Stage 2: Online Main Examination – September 2026
Stage 3: Psychometric Test and Group Interview – October / November 2026
Salary
Selected candidates will get a basic salary of ₹48,480 per month. The salary package will be around ₹20 lakh to ₹21.91 lakh per annum including various allowances.
