As per the instructions of the state government, the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has taken over the responsibility of the examination and other processes related to the recruitment of the Agriculture Department. Information related to the recruitment notification, syllabus, and classification of posts of the Agriculture Department has been released on the official website of KEA.
The recruitment notification has now been officially issued, and agriculture graduates who are preparing for the posts of Agriculture Officer and Assistant Agriculture Officer of the department have been informed to take note.
The process of filling the vacant posts of Agriculture Officer and Assistant Agriculture Officer in the Agriculture Department has begun. Applications have been invited from eligible candidates, and recruitment will be made for a total of 890 posts in the department. Interested candidates have been allowed to apply online by May 10, said Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) Executive Director H. Prasanna.
Classification of posts, examination schedule
May 10 is the last day to apply for all, including Kalyana Karnataka and the remaining basic cadre. May 12 is the last day to pay the fee. The examination will be held on June 7 for a total of 632 posts belonging to Group-B of the remaining basic cadre (including 81 Agriculture Officer and 551 Assistant Agriculture Officer posts).
Similarly, it has been decided to conduct the written examination for a total of 258 posts (40 Agriculture Officers and 218 Assistant Agriculture Officers) of the Kalyana Karnataka cadre on June 14. It has been informed that the Kannada examination for both the cadres will be held on June 6.
Educational Qualification, Monthly Salary Details
- Agriculture Officer (12 posts): Monthly salary 69,250-1,34,200 rupees, for these posts, the educational qualification should be BSc/BSc Hons in Agriculture
- Assistant Agriculture Officer (469 posts): 65,950-1,24,900 rupees. It has been informed that candidates for these posts should have completed BSc/BSc Hons in Agriculture, BTech (Biotechnology, Food and Technology), Agricultural Market Cooperation/Agri Business Management/Agri Engineering/or BSc. Age Limit
Candidates applying for these posts should be at least 18 years and maximum 40 years. Age relaxation will be given to OBC, SC, ST and other category candidates as per caste reservation.
Application Fee Details
Application fee is Rs. 750 for general and 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B category candidates. There is a fee of Rs. 500 for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Category-1 and Disabled candidates. There is no application fee for Ex-Servicemen candidates. The application fee should be paid online.
Selection for the posts will be based on competitive examination and document verification. The exam syllabus and schedule will be announced by KEA soon on its official website https://cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/. Candidates are advised to visit the website for more information, other criteria and important instructions. The educational qualification, age limit, and monthly salary will be the same for the candidates of the Kalyana Karnataka group as mentioned above.
