Educational Qualification
Candidates applying for the posts of Stenographer, Typist and Typist-Copyist should have passed SSLC (10th class) and Second PUC (PUC) or three-year Diploma in Commercial Practice or equivalent qualification. In addition, they should have passed the Kannada and English Typing and Shorthand test conducted by the Department of Public Education at the senior level. To apply for the post of jawan, one must have passed class 10 from the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board.

Age limit
The minimum age of the candidate should be 18 years and the maximum age should be 35 years. Age relaxation of 5 years has been given to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates, and 3 years to Category 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B candidates.
Application fee
Application fee has been waived for specially-abled candidates. Rs. 100 for P.J., P.P. and Category 1, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B candidates. Rs. 200 for general candidates.
