The Indian Postal Department has issued a recruitment notification for 28,740 Rural Doc Sevak posts. The online application process will begin today, January 31. This recruitment process is open to candidates who have passed 10th standard.
Eligible and interested candidates can fill the application form on the official website of India Post, indiapostgdsonline.gov.in till February 14, 2026. The last date for submission of fee is February 16, 2026, and the first merit list is expected to be released on February 28, 2026.
Age Limit
- Minimum 18 years and maximum 40 years.
- Maximum age limit is relaxed by five years for Scheduled Castes and three years for OBCs.
Educational Qualifications
It is mandatory to pass 10th class with Mathematics and English. Knowledge of the local language of the circle you are applying to is essential.
Candidates should have computer knowledge and be able to ride a cycle.
Pay Scale (depending on the position)
- ₹12,000 to ₹29,380 for BPM.
- ₹10,000 to ₹24,470 for ABPM/Doc Sevak.

Selection Process
- Selection will be made by preparing a merit list based on the online applications submitted by the candidates. After selection, the shortlisted candidates will first be subjected to document verification by the respective Heads of Departments.
- No preference will be given to candidates with higher educational qualifications. Final selection will be made based on marks obtained in 10th class.
Application fee for General and OBC categories – ₹100. No fee for SC, ST and women of all categories.
