The Central Government is implementing several schemes with the aim of technically empowering farmers and increasing self-reliance in the agricultural sector. The Kisan Tractor Scheme in particular is a major step towards providing modern agricultural mechanization to farmers.
This scheme is implemented under the Sub-Mission for Agricultural Mechanization (SMAM), and eligible farmers will get a maximum subsidy of 50% for the purchase of a new tractor.
Key Benefits of the Scheme
Maximum 50% subsidy
The government will provide subsidy up to half of the on-road price of the tractor purchased by the farmers.
Transparent direct assistance
The approved subsidy amount will be transferred directly to the farmers or dealers through a release order.
Loan facility
After the subsidy is deducted, easy loan facility can be availed from banks for the remaining amount.
Increased productivity
With the use of mechanized tractors, all agricultural activities including ploughing, sowing, harvesting are done faster and more accurately.
Eligible for all categories of farmers
All farmers including General, OBC, SC, ST are eligible. Especially preference is given to small, very small and women farmers.
Eligibility for the scheme
Resident farmers: Applicants must be Indian.
Income limit: Annual income should be less than ₹2 lakh.
Previous subsidy restriction: Should not have received any subsidy for tractor in the past.
Single tractor per family: Only one subsidy per family.
Land documents: Valid cadastral/RTC or land ownership document is mandatory.

Online Application

Register and complete e-KYC.
Login and add personal details, bank details and land records.
Upload the required documents and submit the application.
Offline Application
- Visit the nearest CSC center or Agriculture Department office.
- Fill the application form and submit it along with the required documents.
Subsidy approval after verification.
