KARTET Notification 2025

Good news for teachers aspirants. The Education Department has issued a notification for the Karnataka Teachers Eligibility Test-2025 (Karnataka TET 2025). Eligible candidates can apply online from October 23 to November 9.

The TET exam will be held on December 7. For more information about the exam, the Centralized Enrollment Unit of the Education Department has said that the instructions published on the website of the School Education and Literacy Department www.schooleducation.kar.nic.in should be followed.

Details about TET

Eligible candidates who wish to apply for the Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test-2025 should apply through the website of the Education Department https://schooleducation.karnataka.gov.in. After filling all the required information in the online application, the candidates should take a printout of the computer generated copy of the application form containing their registration number and full details.

  • Application Submission (Online): From 23rd Aug to 9th Nov
  • Exam Date: (Offline)
  • Paper-1: Date: 07/12/2025, Sunday
  • Time: 9.30 am to 12.00 pm
  • Paper-2: Date-07/12/2025, Sunday
  • Time: 2 pm to 4.30 pm

Exam Fee Details:

General Category, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B

Paper-1 or Paper-2 only-Rs. 700

Paper-1 and Paper-2- Rs. 1000

P.Caste/P.Categories/Category-1

Paper-1 or Paper-2 only-Rs. 350

Paper-1 and Paper-2- Rs. 500
(Specially-abled/Divyang candidates will be exempted from the exam fee.)

Admit Card:

Candidates can obtain the admit card for KARTET-2025 examination by logging in to the departmental website from Dec. 1 to Dec. 7. If there is any discrepancy in the candidates’ information, photograph and signature, there will be no room for correction.

Purpose of TET

The National Council of Teachers Education (NCTE) has fixed the minimum qualifications for recruitment as teachers for classes 1 to 8. Accordingly, to be eligible for recruitment as a teacher in any school, one must have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the government in accordance with the guidelines formulated by NCTE.

Objectives of adopting TET as the minimum qualification for recruitment as a teacher:

To play a key role in enhancing the national standards and educational quality of teachers in the recruitment process.
To motivate teacher education institutions and trainees to improve their performance.
To send a positive message to all stakeholders that the government lays special emphasis on the educational quality of teachers.
The Government of Karnataka has entrusted the responsibility of conducting the Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET) to the Centralised Enrolment Unit (CAC), Office of the Commissioner, School Education Department, KG Road, Bangalore.

Results to be announced by December 31

Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa responded to this and said that the results will be announced by December 31. Then TET will be conducted to fill 18,000 teacher posts, including Kalyana Karnataka. He informed that the selected candidates will be given appointment orders by the next academic year.
