The upper age limit prescribed for candidates for direct recruitment to Group B and Group C posts in the State Civil Services has been relaxed as a one-time measure.
It has been ordered that a relaxation of 2 years be given as a one-time measure in the maximum age limit prescribed in the respective recruitment rules for all categories of candidates participating in the selection process through notifications inviting applications for direct recruitment up to 31.12.2027.

In the Government circulars dated 29.03.2025 and dated 11.04.2025, it has been directed to all the appointing authorities not to issue any fresh notification for direct recruitment to the posts in the cadres subject to reservation in the State Civil Services or to fill up the backlog posts till further orders till the implementation of internal reservation in the Scheduled Castes in the State of Karnataka.
In the Government order dated 25.08.2025 as read in (2) above, the report of Justice H.N. Nagamohan Das Commission was accepted with necessary modifications and 101 castes in the Scheduled Castes were classified as Category-A instead of 5 categories. The existing 17% reservation in education and employment has been divided into 3 categories, namely Category-B and Category-C, and 6% for communities in Category-A, 6% for communities in Category-B and 5% for communities in Category-C. In view of the above, it has been decided to provide relaxation in the maximum age limit for direct recruitment to the State Civil Services for a one-time only. It is hereby ordered as follows.
