Government of India has made it mandatory for people to link their Aadhaar card with their ration card. The government is doing this to ensure that the subsidy provided reaches the genuine beneficiaries.
In fact, cases of fake ration cards have come to light in recent times.
How to Link Aadhaar to Ration Card?
- Visit your state’s Public Distribution System (PDS) website. You need to login to it.
- After login, select the option to link Aadhaar with Ration Card. Now you will get option to enter Aadhaar and Ration Card number.
- After filling the required information, an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP. This will complete your linking process. You will also receive an SMS regarding this. Please note: Ration card should be linked to Aadhaar of all family members whose name is on the ration card. Otherwise you may not be able to avail the government benefits offered in the ration card. The government has made KYC verification mandatory for availing the benefits of government schemes like Aadhaar authentication, mobile number and fingerprint.
