The Adhar Card serves as a universal identity proof for Indian residents. Aadhaar card is one of the important documents that we need wherever we go. Aadhaar card is required for our education, employment, government or financial or personal work.

Even if there are any errors in Aadhaar card, we go to the concerned office and update our Aadhaar cards. Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) will give the deadline for that. But it doesn’t give any deadline for updating the photo in aadhaar code but we still have to update our photo. So that we can stay away from upcoming problems.

What is the problem if aadhaar card photo is not updated?

Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) does not give any date to update Aadhaar card photo. Also, most people don’t bother about this very often. Also we have to update our photo as we update our Aadhaar card details. Yes Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) gives instructions to update Aadhaar card photo once every 10 years. So you should update your Aadhaar card photo at least once in 10 years.

Aadhaar cards of children should also be updated. If we have done Aadhaar codes for children when the children are 5 years old, then after the children turn 15 years old, the Aadhaar card photo should be updated again. Biometric updating along with age is mandatory. Also you can change your photos online or offline.

If the photos are not updated then you will face problem when you go elsewhere. For example, if you have a 15-year-old photo in your Aadhaar card and now you are 25 years old, there will be a difference between your photo and your current photo. Due to this some of your government or non-government jobs may get delayed. So if you have not updated your photo then update it immediately.

How to Update Aadhaar Card Photo?

  • Visit your nearest Aadhaar Enrollment Center, Aadhaar card photo can be updated.
  • You must carry your proof of identity. So make sure your Aadhaar card details are correct.
  • Then fill the Aadhaar update form. Provide any other details like address, name or mobile number if required.
  • -Biometric update (photo, fingerprint or iris scan) is taken by registration operator. -Updating your photo in Aadhaar usually costs 50 rupees.
  • After submitting the form and making the payment, you will receive an acknowledgment slip with an Update Request Number (URN). You can use this number to track the status of your renewal request.

How to Update Aadhaar Card Online?

-You can update your Aadhaar online using the official website myaadhar.udai.gov.in or https ://uidai .gov .in link.

  • First enter your Aadhaar card number and then enter the OTP sent to your mobile and log in.
  • Then you have to select the details you want to update. That means address, mobile number, name etc. you can select the details you want to update.
  • Once you have selected the details you want to update, you must enter the correct information. Some documents need to be uploaded for verification
  • Finally make sure your documents are correct, then click on submit.
