Many schemes have been undertaken by the Horticulture Department for the farmers. A scheme has been devised to avail subsidy for drip irrigation under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana.

Horticulture Department Senior Assistant Director of Horticulture Department S. Keshavamurthy said in a release that the subsidy facility will be available under the Drip Irrigation Scheme of Bangalore Rural District.
Under this scheme the beneficiary is allowed to adopt drip irrigation for maximum 2 acres of crops. General, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe farmers will get 90% subsidy. Interested parties are requested to contact the office of Assistant Director, Horticulture Department and apply

In order to provide irrigation facilities for horticulture crops, the Horticulture Department is implementing the Drip Irrigation Scheme and has invited applications from the farmers to provide assistance to the farmers under this scheme.
In Hanagal taluk of Haveri district, under the Krishi Sanchaini scheme, 90% subsidy for horticulture crops is allowed for introduction of drip irrigation, and drip irrigation can be extended up to 5 acres.

What is the standard? :
Farmers have to meet certain criteria to get subsidy under this scheme. Farmers should own land in their own name. Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe farmers must have caste and income certificate.
Once the application is approved by the farmer, the farmer can adopt drip irrigation system from the company/dealer approved by Horticulture Department.
