Public Holiday List 2025

The central government releases the government holiday calendar every year. The central government has announced public holidays for next year 2025. A single calendar applies to all central government departments.

Gazetted holidays are essentially public holidays. However, restricted leave comes with rules. Also note that they vary by institution and state. The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions has issued a circular declaring 17 gazetted and 34 optional holidays.
