PAN card cancellation of many people across the country:
Permanent Account Number (PAN) card and Aadhaar card are critical identification documents for Indian citizens. As per Income Tax rules, the process of linking your PAN with your Aadhaar is mandatory. The last date for this process was June 30 2023. But according to the report, 11.5 crore people failed to link Aadhaar within the stipulated time. RTI (Right to Information) response from the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) reported that 11.5 crore people’s Pancard De-activated due to this.
1000 fine for PAN card activation:
According to an RTI (Right to Information) response to Madhya Pradesh activist Chandrasekhar Gaur, 70.2 crore people in India have PAN cards. About 57.25 crore people have linked their PAN card with Aadhaar. And another 12 crore people have failed to link Aadhaar pan within the stipulated time (Adhar pan link failed). Reports last week said that the PAN cards of 11.5 crore people have been deactivated. Apart from that, the RTI reply clarified that PAN cards can be reactivated by paying a fine of ₹ 1,000.
Under Section 139AA of the Income Tax Act, those who got a PAN card before July 1, 2017 have been mandated to link their PAN card with Aadhaar.

Step 2: Click on the option “link aadhaar status” appearing above.

Step 3 : Here you enter your PAN card and Aadhaar number. Then click on View link aadhaar status appearing below

Step 4: Now you will get information about your Aadhaar and PAN card being linked
