The by-elections for Davangere South and Bagalkot constituencies will be held on April 9. In this backdrop, the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has postponed the examination and announced a new schedule.

The Karnataka Examination Authority has announced the revised examination schedule for conducting competitive examinations for the posts of Grade-2 Officers of various cadres in the North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation.
The Karnataka Examination Authority had invited applications for the vacant posts of Grade-2 Officers (internal recruitment and direct recruitment posts) of various cadres in the North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation on 19.11.2025 and had also published the syllabus for the posts.
It was announced in the notification dated 07.03.2026 that the competitive examination for the vacant posts of Grade-2 Officers in the North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation would be held on 09.04.2026.
However, due to the announcement of by-elections in two constituencies of the state on 09.04.2026, the examination scheduled for the said date will be held on 10.04.2026.
- Candidates should be present inside the examination centre 2 hours before the examination as entry will be allowed by Frisking and Face Verification.
- There will be negative evaluation and 1/4th (0.75) marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- An additional five minutes will be given after the last bell to shade the fifth option/circle for unanswered questions.
- If no option/circle is shaded, 1/4th (0.75) marks will be deducted for the question.
KEA has also posted on social media that since by-elections have been announced for 2 assembly constituencies on April 9, KEA has decided to conduct the recruitment examination for various vacant posts in the North-West Road Transport Corporation, which was supposed to be held on that day, on April 10.
The written examination will be held on that day at the Bangalore and Dharwad centers for a total of 33 posts. The admit cards will be released soon and candidates should appear for the examination as per the revised schedule.
A total of 2,500 people have applied to write the examination, said H. Prasanna, Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority.
