The Agriculture Department has given good news to the farmers of the state. As the summer season approaches or when the rains stop, the problem of load shedding (power cuts) is common in rural areas. In such a situation, farmers are in tears as they see their crops wither without even reaching their mouths.

The state government, through the Agriculture Department, has invited applications for the distribution of Diesel Pumpset Subsidy at a concessional rate to enable farmers to irrigate their crops in a timely manner even in areas without electricity. This is truly a boon for farmers.
Huge subsidy details (diesel pumpset subsidy amount):
The government has announced a huge subsidy amount for different categories of farmers this time:
- For Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) farmers: A huge subsidy of 75% to 90% on the total cost of the pump set will be available for eligible beneficiaries of this category.
- For General and Other Category (OBC) farmers: Small and very small farmers will get a subsidy of 50% to 90% on the total cost (as per the scheme and departmental rules).
Who can apply? (eligibility criteria):
Farmers must have the following qualifications to avail this facility:
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of the state of Karnataka.
- Only small and marginal farmers are eligible for this scheme.
- The applicant must have a Farmer Identity Card (FRUITS ID). (Because the selection will be done transparently through the ‘FRUITS’ portal).
- The land should be in the name of the farmer. In case of a joint account, the consent certificate of the other account holders is required.
- There should be a water source (well, borewell, lake or agricultural pond) for irrigation in the field.

Please have these documents ready before submitting your application:
- Aadhar card copy.
- RTC (rtc/pahani) – latest.
- Bank passbook copy (for deposit of subsidy money).
- Farmer registration number (fruits id/fid).
- Caste certificate (mandatory if SC/ST farmers).
- Passport size photo.
- Bond/printing paper of about ₹20 or ₹50.
- Water source certificate: Obtain it from the Village Administrator (VA) to confirm that there is a water source in your land.

You can apply for this facility in two ways:
- Offline Method: You can contact your nearest Raitha Sampark Kendra (RSK) or the office of the Assistant Director of Agriculture of the Taluk, get the application form, fill it and submit it along with the documents.
- Online Method: You can also apply online by accessing the official K-Kisan website of the Agriculture Department.
