If the traffic police stops you, the first thing they ask for is two things. Driving license, RC. However, if you lose your RC, you don’t need to worry. Because, RC can be downloaded online. It can be downloaded very easily through the vehicle portal.
The process of downloading RC online.!
- Go to the official vehicle portal.
- Click on “Online Services” and select “Vehicle Services”.
- Select your state and login using your registered mobile number and OTP.
- Enter your vehicle registration number and chassis number.
- Go to the appropriate section (e.g. “Download Document” or “RC Print” – *Exact label may vary depending on the state portal).
- Check and download your RC in just a few clicks.
Download process using DigiLocker.!
- Open the DigiLocker web page or app.
- Login with your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
- Go to the ‘Ministry of Road Transport and Highways’ section.
- Select ‘Registration Certificate’ and enter your vehicle details.
- Ensure that the name on your Aadhaar matches the name on your RC.
- Preview and download your RC on your device.
- Your digital RC will appear in the ‘Documents Issued’ section. Can be accessed anytime.
